Call us today for a free estimate! First, we’ll help you decide what your deck needs. Should we fix it, rebuild it, or design a brand-new one?
Next, we’ll measure your space and show you different Trex deck options. We’ll help you choose railings and add-ons that fit your budget.

Step #2 Backyard Deck Ideas – Design, Choose, and Lock It In

We ask for a 20% deposit to save your spot. When we’re ready to start tearing out the old deck, we’ll need another 40%. The last 40% is due only when the job is done.

If you’re building a second or third-story deck, think about the space underneath. Many homeowners use that space for a patio, hot tub, or screen room. But to enjoy it, the space below must stay dry.
That’s where Trex RainEscape comes in. It’s a smart system that keeps the area under your deck dry—even when it rains or snows. At Platinum Patio and Pavers, we’re experts at installing this system the right way.
Here’s how it works:
First, downspouts are placed at the end of each deck joist. Then, a special waterproof liner is rolled out between each joist to catch rain. RainEscape Tape holds it in place. A gutter is added to carry water away—just like a gutter on your house. Trex decking is installed over the top, hiding the system completely.
Once it’s set up, water flows off your deck and out the gutter. This keeps the space below dry all year. That makes it perfect for a three-season room, sunroom, patio, or hot tub area.
We also seal every corner to make sure water can’t sneak through. That includes using flashing and caulk around posts and adding tape between joists. If needed, we can add lights to help with darker spaces.
